About Me

A few facts:
I was born in Mannheim, Germany. 
A medievalist by training (I received my PhD. in Medieval Studies from Yale University in 2005) I started mosaic work in 2006. 
Since then I have worked with a wide variety of materials including smalti, stained glass, marble/natural stone, and glass fusions. 
I live in Salerno, Italy, since 2005.

Public Projects:

2009    10-day school project: Work on a large-scale mosaic (2 x 85 cm x 145 cm) with ca. 20
            high school kids at the Fronhäuser Schule in Bad Wimpfen, Germany. The mosaic now
            decorates the school's entrance hall.
            Design: Iris Mueller (in collaboration with the students themselves).

'Sea Turtles' (2008). Materials: Stained glass, glass fusion elements, Millefiori, beach glass.
